Introducing the LifeSkills Community Referral Program

Help us recruit young trans women and individuals on the MTF/trans feminine spectrum ages 16-24 in the Boston area.

LifeSkills is seeking friends and allies to be part of the LifeSkills Community Referral Program at The Fenway Institute at Fenway Health. Our LifeSkills Community Referral Program offers people the unique opportunity to collaborate with us on recruitment efforts.

What is LifeSkills?

  • LifeSkills is an exciting National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded study that focuses on empowering young sexually active transgender women (ages 16-24). Find out more here: http://www.projectlifeskills.org/project

Introducing the LifeSkills Community Referral Program

  • The LifeSkills Community Referral Program seeks to engage members of the transgender community, our allies, friends, and those connected and networked with us to collaborate on recruitment efforts.
  • Individuals in the LifeSkills Community Referral Program will be compensated $15.00 dollars for every participant they refer who enrolls in the LifeSkills study.
  • This collaborative effort with community members helps to extend the “reach” of the study organically through existing social networks and ties.

How does the LifeSkills Community Referral Program work?

  • People who indicate an interest in participating in the LifeSkills Community Referral Program will be provided with recruitment materials that have individual coded numbers that identify the recruiter to our staff when a potential participant calls or emails.
  • Because our study has eligibility criteria, not all potential participants will meet the basic criteria to enroll in the study. Recruiters will be compensated $15.00 dollars for every participant they refer who meets the enrollment criteria and enrolls in the study. Volunteers will be paid monthly.
  • If you are interested in finding out more about the LifeSkills Community Referral Program, including how to get involved, please call 617.299.9013 or email us at: lifeskills@fenwayhealth.org
